The euphoria your voice and lyrics give me are incomparable to any other music out there. From Splashdown, to Universal Hall Pass, to your work with Symbion Project, and your angelic additions to musical scores in film and video games-your gift is otherworldly and I can't get enough <3! Sincerely, your fan, always & forever :)

It's 2025. In a random playlist on Spotify I have Sally's Song play. This song is striking, this is a powerful conglomeration of everything that made early 2ks dark fusion pop amazing. I don't understand how it ran so far under the radar. Dont be afraid to revisit this song, the themes, and the overall style. It is all still a relevant world style in todays music. It's somehow a slicker more modern south american version of the Neir Automata fused with other modern sounds before it existed.

Yo. Thank you for decades of inspiration and joy. Your music made me feel seen and heard at a time in my life when I felt invisible and ungrounded, like I was just floating around in the ether. Through listening to your music, I was able to find peace during some of the worst moments of my life.

I was first introduced to Mercury in 2012, when I was 16, by a friend a few years my senior who had been in the rave scene proper. I have been following your ever work since. I'm so excited you've started to release music again. I hope life continues to give you time and space to follow your muse going forward. You have a way of always doing something unexpected but satisfying with a chord progression that tickles my jaded ear. Thanks for always surprising me.

Are you on Instagram? If so, message the account ders_core. I would love to share you're tunes!

Just watched the interview with Kevin, it was great to get a deeper dive into your history. I wish life would give you the time and space you need to create more, but until then, I'll keep listening to your amazing oeuvre. I'd love to hear new stuff, but even if you never release another song, you've already given us so much. (But please release more songs!) Thanks for everything and take care of yourself!

John - Friday, February 23rd, 2024 1:23 PM America/Boise
Just heard your music and wonderful vocals yesterday. I love it! I was looking to listen to Amy Lee's version on Sally's Song and let the tracks play and your take was next up. Please continue to write songs and share your voice with us. Forgive my comparison, but your vocals reminded me of Portishead and Sneaker Pimps. With that I must be clear, you are splendidly unique. As I am typing I am listening for the first time to your Subtle Things album. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.--John

Howdy folks! Been listening to splashdown for... hmmmm... let me think... probably 6 or 7 years on and off. im a youngin. Can't remember how I came across them, but I also don't remember where I put my keys. Every once in a while I'll remember about this band, and will take the time to listen to blueshift again. I like it more each time I listen. Cheers to you reading this!

Lucifer - Thursday, January 18th, 2024 11:11 AM America/Boise
Been listening to you guys since 2019*. Melissa's voice is so endlessly haunting and endearing. It's a shame we don't have dedicated muses and bards in our modern society. Your music has remained a permanent fixture of my life for years and I find myself returning to it again and again when looking for inspiration.

hi freshman here! I discovered splashdown around august of last year and I’ve never had a band captivate me like this before, I listen to splashdown getting ready in the morning, walking in the halls at school, and even sleeping sometimes lol. I’m just really grateful because I feel like I’ve discovered music that speaks to me. Melissa you are like a siren, I’ve never heard a voice like yours and I feel really admire the effort you put into your music each song is so well put together and I can feel the love, it’s awesome. My brother introduced me to Melissa's work when I was still in high school, and my music taste was still developing. He passed away ten years ago, and the music he acquainted me with back then forever helped shape my appreciation for music, and my drive to never stop looking for new artists. I will always cherish the memories of my brother and his impact on my life. Thank you for being part of those memories, Melissa.

it's been a long time. we once talked about Rush, Berklee and Splashdown and baking in LA. i even asked you out for a date. My daughter (Kristen, now deceased) was an ardent admirer of yours. the lesson of the falling leaves was from her eulogy and she would have been over the moon excited that you sang with Kasson. i hope you're well and songs (some you don't like (you said that you were pissed off, i think, that that was released) from possibilities "asia at odd hours" make the whole world happy if they have heard them (that was the first splashdown song that i ever heard) that you've made are great. thanks for being alive

Sha - Tuesday, June 21st, 2022 9:37 PM America/Boise

not a music enthusiast by any degree but man, Splashdown has been hands down one of my favourite bands ever since i found them out. Just today i realize they have a wikipedia page, and to my immense glee i find also that the best part of that band is still active to this day. beautiful sounds.

Andrew Velasquez - Monday, January 27th, 2020 12:14 AM America/Boise
I discovered Splashdown back in the myspace era, sometime around 2007. I was unfortunately too late to the party, as Splashdown had already disbanded years prior, but their unique style and Melissa's hauntingly beautiful voice drew me discover more of her projects. I very quickly discovered Universal Hall Pass and was content in the very real possibility that no new music would come. Am I ever glad that I was mistaken, as just this year I discovered a pleasant surprise of 2 new tracks created by UHP. Melissa, if you read this, please consider a vinyl release of some sort. I would be honored to add your masterful melodies to my record collection! Keep at it, you multitalented goddess.

Juan Mendivelso - Monday, January 27th, 2020 12:14 AM America/Boise
I tried to write a beuatiful and bif paragrahph, but It happened a bug or something and I coudn't submited. Anyways, to sum up, I have to say that after having listened Assassin's Creed soundtrack, Splashdown's and UHP's projects, I reached the conclusion that you are the best voice ever. An unique voice with matchless sublimity that I'm glad to have met... Love you, your biggest hispano american fan. P.D: sorry if my english is not perfect, I'm from Colombia.

Juan Mendivelso - Monday, January 27th, 2020 12:13 AM America/Boise
I knew of her thanks to the Assassin's Creed soundtrack, I searched for the voices behind it, and most of the tracks got the sublime and charming voice of Melissa. Then I investigated more about her, and I found her being the vocalist of Splashdown. Of course both Splashdown and UHP astonished me too. Love her voice in every project she has ever been, since I started to listen Splashdown and UHP, I reached the conclusion (or at least I'm almost certain) that Melissa is the best voice of history, and my favourite. It's an unique voice, matchless and of which I'm glad to have met. Sorry If my english it's not perfect, I'm from Colombia, and by the way I'm your biggest hispano american fan, love you.

I discovered Splashdown and Universal Hall Pass when I was in high school. I loved Splashdown, but it wasn't until later in life, after a major spiritual awakening, the true depth of Melissa Kaplan's music made sense to me. After my spiritual awakening her music was of great comfort of me, because she was able to capture some of the realizations from that experience and living from it through song. While I've since found many other muscians who touch truth, hers will always hold a special place in my heart. The music that has been most helpful for me as been her music that focuses on heart break...I feel like a lot of her songs talk about not just the loss of love, but the loss of mystical love. (Heart break was pre-ordained, right?) Her music was there for me through the loss of my first mystical partner almost seven years ago. I can't tell you how many hours I listened to her as I processed that heartbreak. Now, I'm in the process of mourning my second mystical partner I've had in my life, and....and a new song by Universal Hall Pass was released. Not gonna lie, I cried when I heard it because I was so happy more music was being produced. I then went and looked up the lyrics, and lo and behold, many of the frustrations from my most recent break up were put to song. (Given the songs lyrics, you can probably get a sense of what it was like.) Thank you for making this music, and for reminding this psychedelic spiritual woman know shes not alone.

Been a fan since Titan A.E. :D Never found anything else quite like your music and it never left my CD wallet/mp3 player/phone music player. Can't imagine all those years without you, thank you.

Delighted to find this is still active! Found your work many years ago- i was in middle school when I heard "forms of imprisonment" for the first time and listened to it on repeat for literally months. just about a decade later now, and I re-stumbled upon the song. Turns out I'm living in the same town that Splashdown was from back in the day, making music myself. Strange syzygy. I hope your life continues to blossom with the strange and awesome energy your music has given to the rest of the world, and good tidings to the rest of the commenters here. <3

Hazel - Thursday, March 14th, 2019 10:05 AM America/Boise
I’m sat with my cat eating toast and just asked myself randomly if there’s one person you could ever see live who would it be?” and I just remembered Melissa Kaplan so I had to come on here and say thanks for your beautiful music. The melody of forms of imprisonment gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it. Presumed lost aswell just wow. I love Listening to your music when I’m on my, walking outside it really makes me feel hopeful and excited about life.

I discovered your work through Splashdown (still one of my favorite bands to this day) and I discovered Splashdown after playing Amplitude and listening to Freezepop and similar artists. The mix of different styles, sounds, and lyricism in your work appeals to me. I love it! Keep up the good work. I wish you the best and I'll be listening!

I'm very picky when it comes to the music I can enjoy. Even with a very good sound it's difficult for me as the kinda guy I am to really enjoy music concerning the more mundane or common qualities of life, let alone something from a feminine perspective which would naturally make it harder for me to relate with. In spite of this, my favorite songs now are yours! You obviously have a beautiful, unique voice and tasteful style which set you above and apart from the rest. But it is the lyrics in particular that really transcend the noise of what's available out there and bridges the gap for me to cross over for good as a fan for life. It rarely matters what the song is about so long as you've written it, and I hope it's not just a few of us that appreciate how well you write. It's hard to put into words how important your music has been in my life. When I need to attune my mind to good things, like an epiphany your singing does it! You have been gifted with the most beautiful voice and I'm thankful for your hard work in not wasting it. I wish you the best and God bless.

John Haugland - Saturday, June 9th, 2018 5:10 PM America/Boise
I count my stumbling upon your work as one of the few miracles of my existence. I'm a writer by temperament, and have spent dozens of hours listening to your stuff as I write my own. You're a great inspiration. I hope for a lot of things these days, but as I write this two things especially come to mind: I hope that one day people recognize both Splashdown and Universal Hall Pass as great works of genius, as I and now my friends have done; and I hope you never lose the drive to make your own music, even if the only person still listening is a young man in Houston and sometimes his dog. Godspeed.

David Noireaut - Friday, June 8th, 2018 8:42 PM America/Boise

I have listened to the few releases of this band for a very long time now and have always held hope that this is something that will continue. If not, it would be nice to know not to be expecting anything new from UHP. Until then, I will continue listening and telling my friends.

Kevin H - Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 7:06 PM America/Boise
Just WOW, this is incredible music for music majors and music engineers. Someone below mentioned Mike Patton -- on point but you're more listenable.

Hi I am a university student majoring in theater in Korea. Can we use the cave image of on this performance poster when we are performing in class? This show never gets paid, and it does not do it from the outside. It 's only for educational purposes.

Jim - Thursday, October 19th, 2017 8:51 PM America/Boise
How about putting the UHP material up on Bandcamp? I'd love to add it to my collection there. Also... it'd be really great if Blueshift could be made available in FLAC somewhere, for those of us who don't do lossy. Been a fan since being able to see Splashdown at places like TT's (one of my favorite bands of that very fertile era), but it's kind of a chore trying to gather up the new stuff. A links page for downloads would be handy.

Z - Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 4:48 PM America/Boise
@Ash - You can get all of UHP's music on Google Play. I just wish there were more albums. My favorite music of all time.

Sally's song is haunting!! I love it

Ken - Saturday, October 18th, 2014 8:09 PM America/Boise
One of the best bands I've ever heard. Been on board this ride since the Titan A.E. track Karma Slave. :)

Kyle - Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 10:16 PM America/Boise
Absolutely everyone I've ever had listen to that spectral voice has fallen in love with it. Nothing else even compares to how haunting and lovely it is.

Elizabeth pfahler - Thursday, August 14th, 2014 7:09 PM America/Boise
So glad you have a new project! Love your voice. Kasson was my housemate long ago and introduced me to splashdown and I was sad when that didn't work out. Then tonight I'm listening to pandora and I think that sounds like splashdown! And I google Universal Hall Pass and what do you know, it's Melissa Kaplan! Keep it coming girl!

Ergo - Tuesday, July 15th, 2014 7:35 AM America/Boise
I've been completely addicted to your EP "Subtle Things". Absolutely fantastic music, thank you!

Stephanie - Thursday, July 10th, 2014 12:15 AM America/Boise
The music you create is expansive, transcendental, and just blissful. Thank you for sharing these gifts.

Rusty - Thursday, June 26th, 2014 5:16 PM America/Boise
There's something special in the way M.K. writes that makes SD and UHP astonish...it's half-magic. Ironspy was also the track that hooked me for life. That was late in Jr. High. I'm 31 now - still nothing compares to this kind of writing.

Tiffany - Friday, June 13th, 2014 12:07 PM America/Boise
Just heard Sally's Song on Pandora and am now a fan. Love it! How can I get the artwork for the album cover of Subtle Things? Who's the artist?

ekleana - Sunday, May 25th, 2014 4:56 PM America/Boise
Just heard of you guys via pandora for the first time today, and you guys are my new favorite band. You guys are amazing, thanks for sharing!!

Yoshi M - Monday, May 5th, 2014 1:47 PM America/Boise
I first heard your voice on the live recording of Ironspy, used behind a dance performance at my high school in the year 2000. I have been following your musical production ever since. I made my own CDs of Splashdown and used to force them on everyone I met :) I love the direction you've taken with UHP, your vocal ability and composition are amazing and align perfectly with my musical tastes. I really hope you continue to record as UHP -- I've been waiting breathlessly for more since you released Mercury.

Daniel Clark - Sunday, May 4th, 2014 3:08 PM America/Boise
I love the sound of your music, especially when I'm in the right state of mind for it. The song I find strong relations with is katrina josephina, I show that piece to almost everyone. Thank for your insights, with the right interpretation; people's lives can be improved greatly.

Jason - Monday, April 14th, 2014 8:48 PM America/Boise
So awesome to find you! I have never written any artist as a 'fan', but I am super happy to have this opportunity. I really hope you get the chance to read these all, and be inspired to keep singing. I hear you on the Titan AE soundtrack. Those were the Napster / Azerius (sp?) days. I found everything I could that was Splashdown, and made a cd. A CD!!!!!! Guess what, I still have it!!!!! I cherish it! Love your voice, so many great memories. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Look forward to more!

Tim - Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 12:56 PM America/Boise
About fourteen years ago I heard a song on college radio with a voice so beautiful, so melodic, that I stopped whatever I was doing. I quickly grabbed for a cassette tape,(this was well before Shazam) tossed it in my Aiwa and hit "Record." The cassette tape was somewhere in the middle and it didn't matter what I was recording over. I had to have this song. Throughout the years, and after losing the tape in moves and among hundreds of other cassettes, the advancement of internet search engines continued to improve. Still I could not find this song. Today, after fourteen years, I found it. The song is "The Archer." The second syllable had become lost to me so I had been typing "have mercy art" into google, which those lyrics spoke to me as well. I guess I just found the right combination of words today and heard that song for the first time in over a decade. It was just one of those small tiny itches, that not knowing who that angel's voice belonged to. Like that beautiful girl I saw once when I was twelve years old. So keep making great music. I look forward to discovering more. I have Shazam now.

Nathaniel - Friday, February 7th, 2014 8:12 AM America/Boise
KATRINA JOSEPHINA!!!!!!! STILL A CLASSIC OF MINE IN 2014

Bryan - Monday, November 11th, 2013 5:12 PM America/Boise
Amazing music...I love the mixing in Splashdown as well as the musical performances! Don't know what all albums you have, but talked to Melissa somehow on (...) and just reconnected to this music again somehow...amazing stuff.

Mitchell Bordelon - Monday, October 21st, 2013 5:30 PM America/Boise
I absolutely love every track of every song you have been in! You are my hero, and I have the most respect and appreciation for all music, but yours is top drawer. Look forward to anything else you come out with, and praise everything you have done. I feel like a little girl typing this, I'm at a complete loss for words. I truly cannot describe the total awesomeness your music has provided me over the years. All I can say is thank you. Lots of kindness and gratitude from Houston, Texas. I don't make Much money but I would fork out some serious money to see you perform! Sorry if I seem creepy! Please don't ever stop making masterpieces!!!!

Simon - Thursday, October 17th, 2013 7:00 AM America/Boise

Laurel - Tuesday, July 30th, 2013 3:29 PM America/Boise
hey there poo bear!!!! Its your old pal from downunder I've missed you - are you on Facebook - send me friend request????

Luuk - Thursday, July 25th, 2013 7:17 AM America/Boise
A big 'thumbs up' for all I've heard. Mesmerizing, large sounds and yet modest vocals at times fragile though very controlled. Beautiful, daring and outstandingly crafted. I had a friend over for dinner yesterday and we exchanged some things we've seen and heard. He told me your 'ring of fire' had been played on 'Radio FIP' a public radio station in France with a taste for 'good music'. This spring we, the dinner Friend Johan and I made a gloomy remake of 1938 (Lale Andersen) 'Lili Marleen' song for a stage play we have performed in our humble dutch hometown. (You might find this on soundcloud if interested.) This is, hardly relevant, though making it taught me what a meticulous job making music is and might be a proper introduction of myself and 'en-passant' of a singing friend. Kind regards, Luuk

Alisha, Jynx - Monday, July 1st, 2013 12:40 PM America/Boise
Splashdown and UHP are my favorite bands of all time. Melissa youre voice changed my life, listening to Splashdown and recently UHP`s lyrics and music arrangements has become the soundtrack of my everyday reality. (breathtaking, alien, that sense of another time and place).I wish all mudic could be so perfect and othetworldy...yet down to Earth. idk how to describe my feelings any better but I`m passionate. Please keep putting music out!!

Thomas (Twin) - Friday, May 10th, 2013 2:53 PM America/Boise
Take me away with you. I have so much to tell you, where your music has led me. The implications it has for this world. From it, I'm creating the Grand Synthesis.

James A. Smith a.k.a. JAZZMASTER - Friday, October 12th, 2012 1:53 AM America/Boise
Had a chance to listen to more of your music. To say that you're a "talented singer" was truly an understatement on my part and for that I must apologize. You're WAY beyond talented! I've been a big fan of Electronic music since the heyday of Kraftwerk. Your music has such spirit and groove.....it's just hard for me to describe it properly. I am so honored to have you counted among my friends. Catch you later.....Peace....James (JAZZ)

Ken Phillips - Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 7:58 PM America/Boise

Went to work this morning with Solar/Lunar "stuck" in my head, which I put in quotations because it's willfully there. And I'm thinking, as I looked you up in various ways on Ticketmaster.com yesterday evening... I'd eat scorpions to see you in concert!

sebastian backström - Friday, April 6th, 2012 2:06 PM America/Boise
I finally heard your two uhp-albums and they are awesome. Especially the song "six-step dragon". I have no idea what you are singing about in it, but it´s really nice. I love singing along to your songs. Unfortunately for me, I am sick right now and everything that comes out when I sing is false and weak. Have a good day or night or whatever it is where you are.

Kal El - Friday, March 9th, 2012 11:07 AM America/Boise
Melissa you illuminate even the darkest nights with sound brighter than the sun. I love you're creations with Splashdown an am enjoying the spell of UHP even as I type. thank you & hope you never stop

Melissa! I LOVE your music, you've gotten me through some tough times, so thank you! I tell everyone who asks who's my top 5 "artist/groups" and you take 1 and 2 with UHP and Splashdown. Thank you again for your music.

Amber D'Monti - Tuesday, February 21st, 2012 3:09 PM America/Boise
Melissa! Is there a possibility you'd consider making a fb page? It doesn't have to be about UHP, but just so we know how you're doing in life. Much love!

AJ - Sunday, February 12th, 2012 8:11 PM America/Boise
Hi, I'm trying to find out who I need to talk to about getting one of Melissa's songs on my film. You see I'm a student filmmaker currently working on my thesis. I heard the song No one and the lyrics blew me away! I'd really like to have it in my film, I think it would fit so perfectly. Please contact me via email with some info on how to do this. I'd like to do it right.

Ani - Sunday, February 5th, 2012 6:47 AM America/Boise

No more sneakyrecords.net? I hope this doesn't mean no more records... if this were to be true, you would be missed terribly! also posted March 1st, 2007, still inspired.

Michael - Monday, May 30th, 2011 1:47 AM America/Boise
I love your music. Are you gonna release a Subtle Things on Vinyl?

Thomas - Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 9:44 PM America/Boise
Melissa, how can I say this? You, quite inadvertently, became a cornerstone influence in my life a little over six months ago. I had a breakthrough of sorts. Your song Cave Radio communicated to me in ways that went far into and beyond spirituality and self-discovery, in a most abstract sense of self. Would you be so awesome as to email me about it someday, about what it means to you?

Ibrahim - Monday, March 21st, 2011 9:33 PM America/Boise
"Inti of the Incas - Sally's Song" Nice, so nice. I love your voice

I've been a fan of Splashdown since Titan A.E. Karma Slave was my favorite track on the OST, so I looked up Splashdown and got a hold of everything I could find. Have been listening faithful since then. The other day I was listening to Jespyr Kyd's Assassin's Creed 2 OST and I was thinking to myself "This woman's voice sounds so familiar to me. So, after some googling I arrived here!

Zac - Friday, October 1st, 2010 9:45 PM America/Boise

Big Fan From Seoul - Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 11:02 AM America/Boise
I've been listening to you ever since I gor curious at Titan AE's soundtrack, and decided to fall in love with splashdown when I heard Mayan Pilot...Big Fan!! Back when I began to search for your songs...I never knew where to find information on you and the former band... I was a high school girl in Seoul, Korea! Now, thank god for wekepidia. Splashdown and UHP (powered by Ms. Kaplan) have put out, without a doubt, some of the most innovative, complex, fascinating and beautiful music I have ever heard. Will we ever see Ms. Kaplan on tour? Would begging help? :-)

peter - Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 4:07 PM America/Boise
is there ever any hope of you hooking up with kasson again? i listen to possibilities and blue shift and i am so blown away. what bothers me is that i've listened so many times and i am just in love with your voice! there are two bands in the world which i would go to see; splashdown and wire. does anyone think that freezepop compares with splashdown? (i live in brookline and have a splashdown (the redshift) sticker on my car. occasionally i'll get accosted by some freak. come home!!!

Hey, I'm from Rochester, now living in Davis Square. I wonder how your days in Boston were. I have this vision of you making a musical, between "so ha!" and "quiet use of charm" I could see something cool happening on a stage.

LLM - Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 1:58 PM America/Boise

Hola from the Emerald City! I'm busy converting the masses here in Seattle to Splashdown and Universal Hall Pass. 'Tis hardy, backbreaking labor but I shall not stop in my holy work until all the tofu-eating java junkies here are converted! That being said, I probably should get around to getting Subtle Things... oh blasphemy, blashphemy! I must burn!!!! But before I go perform penitence by lighting myself on fire, I must say that I love your work, and so do many others here. You've got fans in the Puget Sound!

Tina - Monday, March 19th, 2007 4:21 PM America/Boise

Jérôme M. - Thursday, January 11th, 2007 4:49 AM America/Boise
For 6 years on now, I've been listening to you, so once in a while, the tiny waterbead i am jumps over the ocean surface and I'm shouting to the world: Reality is not always what we think it is, Beauty is not always what we think it is, The kindest of people are not always the ones we think. Good music is not always where we think it is. Never give up , you've found your own best way to make the world around you beautiful! Thanks for your music

JP Langsdorf - Friday, January 5th, 2007 10:22 AM America/Boise
Ever the alchemist - your music is golden. An effective panacea, too. Never stop making music.

Mel - Just got the Subtle Things... amazing! Your voice is goose bumps, my favorite female vocalist and I have a very large collection! The remixed are fantastic and the new tracks brilliant. I think 50% is still my favorite but Sally's Song and Forms of Imprisonment are making a big splash. Major props to you on this album and the much improved sound quality since Mercury. Keep it up, you are ear candy!

Willa - Thursday, January 4th, 2007 11:19 AM America/Boise

I've been waiting for years to see some sign of Splashdown, ever since I saw your concert on 11/4/06 in Rochester (and met you guys the next day, when I had lost my voice). I was just listening to Stars and Garters on my iPod when I decided to buy some Internet at a cafe on Ave A in the East Village (NYC), to see if I could track you down. My search uncovered UHP. Can't wait to hear it (ordered Mercury from Amazon).

linda sublett ridenour - Monday, August 7th, 2006 7:57 AM America/Boise
Oh my God! I can't believe I finally found this site and can put a name, Melissa Kaplan, to the music I have fallen in love with! You gave one of your cd's to my friend, Ovi, when you played in Simi Valley, CA - at Harmony Sweet - last yr. He had no case and did not know your name and he recently gave me the cd (because I fell SO in love with it!) and I only just now was able to rip it onto my computer and find out your name & band & this site. I played at Harmony Sweet many times (I lived in Simi Valley but I've just moved to D.C.) and I could hardly believe you made an appearance there. I believe my cd is titled, Universal Hall Pass, and it is just f'ing fabulous!!!! I don't see anything about a mailing list, but if you have one, please put me on it. You must come to the east coast - if not, I will surely plan my next trip to CA. to be able to see you and hopefully meet you. I am blown away by your voice and your songwriting. I feel so lucky to have this little gem of a cd! I can not wait to find more of your music...you have really enlightened and inspired me. I hope you are doing well and Ovi hopes the same. Please tell me you are making lots of money, and whatever I can do to get you to the east coast - and to get more of your cd's - I will gladly do it! You are absolutely fabulous! Thank you so, so much for visiting Harmony Sweet (you may remember Elizabeth, the owner) and I apologize because I am sure you did not play that night to the crowd of music lovers you deserve. You are a doll to pass on your cd to Ovi and it has enriched both our lives and brought us so much pleasure, you can not imagine. Keep on rockin' girlfriend! You're biggest fan, Linda :-)

Chrissy - Sunday, August 6th, 2006 11:10 PM America/Boise

Robert - Sunday, June 25th, 2006 12:39 PM America/Boise
Honestly, what can I say that can repay you for years of great music? I have managed to track down all of the Splashdown tracks the net can provide (can't find an album here locally at *all*) and have to admit not a day goes by where I'm not in some way bathed in your music. Universal Hall Pass shows us that you're not only continuing after Splashdown, but growing into something even more beautiful. Thank you Melissa, thank you very much.

Heyy, I tracked you down! I was a Splashdown fan ever since I heard Karma Slave on the Titan A.E. soundtrack and was as heavily bummed as the rest of us when that band went under. So of course I grabbed Mercury the second I knew it existed. Thank you so much for keeping your unmatched vocal talent (not to mention the inspired lyrics) available to us masses.

Hey, there :) I play bass for Hayley Taylor and bought your CD on the 13th when we performed with you. Your voice won't leave my head. It is beautiful. I loved the stripped down (vocals, piano) performance you gave that night. I just wanted to drop a line. I'd love to keep in touch. It's not often that I see a local show that inspires me :) Thank you. Ben

Bethany - Tuesday, March 14th, 2006 1:33 AM America/Boise
I was given your blueshift cd for xmas by a fellow fan, and I haven't stopped listening to it since. You've touched me with your music and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing with me and the whole world. I anxiously wait for what is yet to come.

Seth - Wednesday, March 8th, 2006 2:16 PM America/Boise
Melissa you are my favorite artist making music today. Universal Hall Pass is *just* as good as Splashdown. I love how you blend catchy and beautiful music with mystifying and wondrous poetry. I'm completely infatuated with almost every song on Mercury - if I had to pick a favorite it'd be Katrinah Josephina. I remember the chill I got in my back when I first listened to it in reverse. Mercury is like finally comprehending Blueshift for the first time again, an experience I've always wished to repeat but didn't realize was within reach until now. You are an extraordinary poet and I wish I could hear your voice more.

Luke - Thursday, March 2nd, 2006 9:37 AM America/Boise
I love all of your music , it is sooo great ((ok now with all of the crazy fanboy stuff out of the way)), i discovered this all by accident , and i want to say thanks you brought me onto a whole new genre of music , i heard So Ha on a small flash cartoon and from that i discovered Splashdown and Universal hall pass , but it has also brought me onto a whole range of music i never knew i liked , i have found other bands (none as good as yours) like the dresdendolls ect. Thank you!

Sam - Sunday, February 12th, 2006 3:42 PM America/Boise
Melissa! You are my FAVORITE artist in the whole world. I was a huge metalhead, but the minute I heard your stuff from Splashdown, your music introduced me into a world of beautiful jazzy/electronic/bohemian type music. You are a superb singer and a fabulous songwriter. I still listen to a lot of Splashdown, and try to get as many people as I can into it, now I have a new great band to spread the word about. Dragonfly is an absolutely capturing song. I can't wait to hear so much more! I've already ordered an album along with another friend. I hope you decided to come to Montreal sometime. I'd kill people to get to see you live and in person. Keep up the GREAT stuff! Can't wai t to get my CD.

Chris - Saturday, January 28th, 2006 5:11 AM America/Boise
Melissa, you by far have the most amazing voice out there right now. I listen to you everyday. You have no idea what your music means to me, and how it helps me get through my daily life. Thank you!

Howdy! Greetings from Japan! No, I'm not Japanese. I just live here for the moment. Anyway. I saw the animation "Alice" which used a splashdown song. I was really attracted to the vocal quality and kept looking, to find you here at UHP. What an amazingly powerful voice. A voice that doesn't need volume to communicate emotional depth. Once I'm back in the country, I plan on ordering Mercury. Breathtaking.

Kevin G Davy - Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 2:02 AM America/Boise
Hi Melissa, Just to send you Love and Best Wishes from here in the U.K. Happy New Year, and keep up the good work. Kevin xx p.s. hope to see you this year.

Griff - Monday, January 9th, 2006 12:01 PM America/Boise
Checking in from Fort Collins, Colorado! I wouldn't be posting if I was not enamored with UHP's fantastic sound, stellar vocals, and refreshing creativity. Volume is way, WAY UHP!! Thank you. Despite reading collectively hundreds of guestbooks, I've never felt the overwhelming need to contribute until hearing "Mercury" (Sneaky #023). A tiny chunk about me: my personal kryptonite is dried parmesan cheese in a can, and probably also Oompa-Loompas.

Waterweave - Friday, January 6th, 2006 1:50 PM America/Boise
I just heard Misdirected for the first time, and I feel that it is simply impossible for me to communicate precisely how it made me feel (which is appropriate giving the lyrics.) The best I can do is say that it is like having a hallucination with a sense I don't have. I never thought that music could speak so loudly, and I doubt that you'll ever understand (or believe) what it means to me. Thank you. And while this probably makes me sound a bit out of my mind, my gratitude really does have meaning. The melody is so flowing and haunting, your voice is beautiful beyond quantification, and the lyrics really spoke to me as someone who has analyzed everything to the point where everthing is so transparent that there is absolutely nothing left to see. But apparently there is still something left to hear, because your song makes me want to cry (in a way that is cathartic of emotions I forgot were still a part of me.) Thank you (again.)

Anitra - Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006 5:00 PM America/Boise
I've been a Splashdown lover since I heard it on my college radio station in the late 90s. I just knew I would love UHP as well. Splashdown/UHP is the music I would make if I could make music. Keep up the great work, Melissa! When can we expect a new album?

Will - Thursday, December 29th, 2005 4:07 PM America/Boise
Hey, I couldn't find a contact email address ANYwhere, so I figured I'd post here (sorry). This website is not quite up to the snuff of your music. Pretty good-looking, but way heavy on the ImageReady (slices are death on render performance). I could make it ~10x faster in a few hours, free, because I like your music. It's what I do...Lemme know... Will PS - Love Splashdown, finally stumbled on this site after a bit of Googling...

I am a deprived Canadian that has discovered the brilliance of UHP and cannot find it in any store in Toronto let alone anything by splashdown. I would like to buy it off the sneaky records site but my patience is as poor as my artsy clique. HELP!!

Love your stuff. I was actually the housemate of a friend of "Jason the DJ out in LA". Pretty funny to find he mixed your voice in one of his tracks... Continued success. Come back to Boston and sing for us soon. :) -Rob

Sharon - Thursday, October 27th, 2005 6:02 PM America/Boise
One word:Brilliant! I have been listening to Splashdown since my former roommate introduced it to me a few years ago. UHP has just entered my life and already I'm hooked. MK-your vocals are beautiful and wonderfully layered. They always give me goosebumps! You're on my list of top musical genius' with artists such as Bjork, Radiohead and Bloc Party. P.S Please come to Montreal soon.

perfectwashu - Sunday, October 23rd, 2005 3:46 PM America/Boise
Downloaded Mercury from Itunes, no suprise I loved it. The shear diversity and her eerie elligent voice is perfectly tuned to the album. Once again Mellissa proves she is a truely amazing artist. Only wished she was more famous in UK

Alex - Tuesday, October 4th, 2005 11:52 PM America/Boise
After very much anticipation I finally Recieved a copy a Mercury in the mail a few weeks ago and it was well worth the wait. I hope you can tour sometime. It would be lovely to see you perform live. I really love the song No One. It always touches my heart. Another magnificent masterpiece

Clif - Sunday, October 2nd, 2005 1:25 AM America/Boise
I think Melissa is the most under-rated person this Earth, the band deserves so much more, they could change things, i believe it. Living in Ireland it's tough so get a CD, i want it so bad :'( Please come to Ireland Melissa, we'll make you a gig Much Love x!

John Gibson III - Saturday, October 1st, 2005 11:45 AM America/Boise
Excellent album. Very unusual to hear intelligent, subtle (and in the case of some songs, not so subtle) religious undertones in popular music. Excellent fusion of "world music" and standard Western pop sound. The airy tone and lack of vibrato create a very nice, pure tone with no distractions. Nice voice placement, too. I loved your music back in high school - one piano degree later, Splashdown and UHP are still at the top of my playlist. Keep up the GREAT work! And come see us in Houston some time!

Michael Perron - Sunday, September 25th, 2005 5:50 PM America/Boise
The woman I've fallen in love with introduced me to your work. You have something to say, and I thank you for saying it so beautifully and eloquently.

Troy - Tuesday, September 20th, 2005 12:24 PM America/Boise
The first song I ever heard of yours, Melissa, was Asia at Odd Hours - and it has remained my favorite ever since. I delight in the fact that I can play your music to anyone and have them walk away loving it. I really liked Dragonfly - just got your cd in the mail today!

Liam - Sunday, September 18th, 2005 11:40 AM America/Boise
the best thing about my ex is that she introduced me to splashdown and by proxy, UHP...i fell asleep listening to Stars and Garters last night.

Your music makes me elated....

First heard "A Charming Spell" on Timewarner's digital music station back in 2000, late at night, and perked up, "What is *THAT*!?" and have been hooked since. St. Petersburg FL wants more. I've got a dozen friends hooked on Kaplan like a drug. The squelching of Blueshift's release is one of the great tragedies in modern music.

Laura Garland - Wednesday, August 17th, 2005 10:25 AM America/Boise
i first found a song on the new grounds website, they used 'So Ha' for the music in it, since then i have listened to all your songs, well i yet to get mercury. and i can't wait. i love the creativity of your music, the soul touching sounds..what i love most about your music is the fact that it dosen't fall under any genre, it is compleatly its own...any chance of you touring Bristol in the UK? wish you all the best in your upcomming achivements. Laura @};-

Innovation and creativity will triumph over all else, your music has shown that. Will there ever be UHP merchandise?

3 years ago I stumbled upon Splashdown, and since then I have managed to accumulate almost every single song with your voice. Your voice has often been the soundtrack for my paintings as well as for my first solo art exhibit. I had a DJ create a mix for the opening night using differnt songs from both splashdown and UHP. The whole event was a hit and I managed to get a lot of people interested in your music. keep it up. Can't wait to hear what you do next!!

Darren - Friday, May 20th, 2005 6:42 AM America/Boise
Heyy Mel K! I'm suuuch a huge fan of your music, and I was blown away by UHP's first album Mercury. Six Step Dragon definitely being my fav song off that effort. I was a sold splashdown fan after hearing karma slave for the first time. Your music is a complete departure from my usual love of Death Metal, you have the ability to make people cross genres! Please make lots more music soon. Volume levels up!

rebbie - Wednesday, May 18th, 2005 5:04 PM America/Boise
Dear UHP: I love your CD and I would be so thrilled to receive a signed photo of you. Thank you for the beautiful music you have brought into my life. Yours, Rebbie R. Raphael 104 Monteroy Road Rochester,NY 14618

Oh so happy! Been a Splashdown fan for a long time thanks to WBER in Rochester, NY. Saw them several times and got to meet the band at a CD signing in Rochester. I just stumbled onto this website after listening to Redshift and lamenting the band's breakup. SO NICE to hear Melissa's voice again! Keep it up!

Saw Splashdown at Earth Day in Cincinnati a few years ago. Been a fan of MelK ever since. Beautiful stuff, really.

Mark - Thursday, May 12th, 2005 3:14 PM America/Boise
I went out to my car the other morning to find that all my CDs had been stolen, including Mercury and all my rare Splashdown albums :( The first thing I did: I got online and bought another copy of Mercury. After listening to it for the past several months straight, quitting cold turkey is painful. At least the local radio station (WBER) has finally started playing it. Also, I agree with Mat, Eliza and Alan, we would love to see you in Rochester!

Amanda - Wednesday, May 11th, 2005 6:55 PM America/Boise
Hi! I first heard Splashdown a couple years ago, when it became difficult to find. But I was able to, and loved it. When UHP came out, I was thrilled and bought the cd the first chance I got, and I just can't get enough of it. =) Everyone I introduce to your music loves it just as much as I do. The vocals are wonderful, the lyrics are wonderful, the sounds are wonderful. Definatly one of my favorites. =D

Caleb - Sunday, May 8th, 2005 9:10 PM America/Boise
bought titan a.e. loved splashdown spiraled into all the great music, and am now addicted to the cd. bought one for each of my friends ^_^ they could use some GOOD music. hope there is much more to come

Sean - Saturday, May 7th, 2005 8:54 PM America/Boise
Mercury is a great album. It combines some hints of Splashdown-goodness while remaining creatively original. Definitely one of my favorites.

Eric - Friday, May 6th, 2005 10:48 PM America/Boise
I absolutely love Mercury! I have been waiting for it since I first downloaded "Misdirected" years ago and I have to force myself not too listen to the album nonstop! I loved Splashdown, but UHP has just dazzled me to a new extent that I didn't expect! I try my hardest to get everyone I know to at least listen to Mercury, and almost everyone loves it. I agree with everyone that touring seems like the most natural next step is for Mel to tour, or at least play live at a few clubs! ;)

Jessie - Wednesday, May 4th, 2005 8:03 AM America/Boise
just wanted to say WOW...so hard to be prepared for the album. i thought nothing could get more satisfying than dragonfly and misdirected, and then heard the others and was, of course, blown away. i've been listening for a long while now, and believe it or not, people in apartments next to me have heard your music blasting and come over to ask for a copy of the cd...and all the splashdown tracks too. you're truly, uniquely creative and i'm grateful that you share it with people. thanks alot!

ajax rayovac - Saturday, April 30th, 2005 7:43 PM America/Boise
He Mel k and Brian, i've read some great reviews of the cd. the one that cracked me up is that the album was great except for secret agent that sounded like "Top 40" Got forbid we have success at the top 40 in the billboard chart... boo hoo, that would be so sad!LOL :)

Laura Bradley - Tuesday, April 26th, 2005 7:27 AM America/Boise
Hello, Melissa and Company! First of all, thanks to you for all of the time, energy, and sincerity that was put into Mercury. It is a truly remarkable ablum, one that refuses to settle in to a specific genre and embodies a fierceness of spirit that makes it truly unique. I believe that Melissa is as talented a vocalist as it gets. However, it is not only the voice that makes this album as special as it is. Cheers now! PS --> You have fans in Florida, you know...

Brian - Wednesday, April 20th, 2005 3:29 PM America/Boise
Melissa, I have been a long time Splashdown fan. Everyone I have shared your voice with has been hooked! I just found this site and got your new cd a couple weeks ago. I love it, can definatly hear your Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares influances (Katrinah Josephina), then again you could sing the dictionary and I'd be in awe. I have over 400 CD's and you have the best female voice I've ever heard. On a side note I'm very glad to hear that with todays heated political issues you've kept your music seperate from whatever your politics are, kudos! Best wishes to you and thank you for continuing with your ear candy for all of us!

ed barrett - Wednesday, April 20th, 2005 6:28 AM America/Boise

I bought the Splashdown discs when you guys had that promotion for existing Splashdown owners to get the word out. Now, I routinely get people hooked on Splashdown, then send them running to your new website. I love your music, Melissa, and I hope you come to L.A. to play for us. Favorite Splashdown song: Halfworld. Favorite UHP songs: Dragonfly, Misdirected, Six-step Dragon, Avatar.

STAYCEE - Wednesday, April 13th, 2005 2:27 AM America/Boise
O MAN! IVE LIKED YOUR MUSIC SINCE I LAID...EARS ON IT. I TOTALLY FORGOT HOW I FIRST LISTENED TO YOUR MUSIC, BUT I KNOW IT WAS SOMEWHERE EARLY OR LATE 2003. I LOVE SPLASHDOWN ALSO, MY FAV SONG IS DRAGONFLY. I LOVE THE CHORUS. YAY ! MAKE MORE MUSIC SIL VOUS PLAIT! -STACE

Alan - Wednesday, April 13th, 2005 12:59 AM America/Boise
Splashdown is one of my favorite bands, ever since WBER played Ironspy back in like 2000. And I totally agree with Mat and Eliza. It'll be great for UHP to play in Rochester.

Scott - Tuesday, April 12th, 2005 8:17 AM America/Boise
I first heard Melissa and Splashdown on a CMJ Magazine bonus CD in 1999, and I've been enthralled by her music ever since. I recommend this CD (and Splashdown as well) to everyone I discuss music with, as well as many that I don't. Mercury hasn't left my CD player since it arrived on my doorstep, and isn't likely to any time soon, or at least until there's another album for me to play over and over. Keep up the good work, and don't forget to come play in Buffalo!

Candace - Friday, April 8th, 2005 10:55 PM America/Boise
Where to begin...like I've always said, Mel K is the best of the best...she should know that she has blessed so many people's lives with her incredible gift of writing and of course that distinctive voice! No one compares...takes my breath away everytime! She has been an inspiration to me as a musician from her days with Splashdown till UHP... Melissa...keep making great music and know that you are greatly loved and admired! And please please come to the east coast and perform live for us!!!

Mike - Friday, April 8th, 2005 11:38 AM America/Boise
Splashdown is the greatest band I have ever had the pleasure of listening to, and they will forever be my favorite musicians. I happened to be in Allston yesterday and almost teared up while driving through it. It's amazing that Splashdown's greatness, which I hold so dearly, is equaled by the greatness of Universal Hall Pass. "Mercury" is incredible, Melissa the most wonderful singer there is, and I am glad that there is still such beautiful music coming from that amazing voice, mind, and soul. "Sometimes I wonder why God put me on this earth / I'm much too sensitive to survive."

Eliza - Friday, April 8th, 2005 7:18 AM America/Boise
I second the request from Mat. It would be great to see you come back to Rochester!

Derek - Thursday, April 7th, 2005 7:37 PM America/Boise

Jordan - Saturday, April 2nd, 2005 9:38 AM America/Boise
Mellisa is really a rare talent, a gifted singer-songwriter-musician. I have been following her music since the glory days of Splashdown, and have been impressed with UHP since Dragonfly was available to listen on the website. A loyal group of fans is pushing hard to get Mercury air play on WBER in Rochester, NY who still plays Splashdown (and even sponsored a concert way back when). Keep up the good work!

Vicky - Wednesday, March 30th, 2005 9:28 PM America/Boise
I love this album! Splashdown and UHP are my favorite bands and thank god I discovered them or my life wouldn't be complete! Really looking forward to the EP coming up! My fav. songs (all of them I love but I have to choose) Solar/Lunar (awesome awesome song, Misdirected, Dragonfly, No One, Avatar, and Quiet Use of Charm) One of my favorite albums!

Jeffy - Wednesday, March 30th, 2005 5:35 AM America/Boise
Sadly I never knew about Splashdown until the Titan AE soundtrack featured Karma Slave. However, ever since then, I've been rabidly addicted to Melissa's voice. Mercury is now one of my most prized CD's, and I look forward to treating further releases similarly.

Rob James - Tuesday, March 29th, 2005 10:41 AM America/Boise
Absolutely fantastic, the only artist I've ever been able to call myself fanatical about. congratulations on the air-play and if you ever need help with the site, you know where we are!

JD - Monday, March 28th, 2005 5:36 PM America/Boise
Greetings. I have been a huge splashdown fan ever since I attended the show where they opened for the Church in NY. I have purchased Mercury and like it very much. My favorite songs are Solar/Lunar and Katrinah Josephina. Keep up the great work, Melissa.

Brian - Sunday, March 27th, 2005 7:21 AM America/Boise
Wow, this record is amazing. It's dizzying - that's a cheesy stock word from any Spin magazine hack-piece of a review, but it really is. The eclecticism works, the dark aesthetic works, the melodies are incredible, the structure of the songs is interesting...wunderbar.

Kasa the Wicked - Saturday, March 26th, 2005 7:16 PM America/Boise
Quite excellent. I'm planning on getting the album when possible.

I'm just a music lover from France, so i feel obliged to leave a message here. I wish your music were known in every corner off this spheric planet (i wish Earth had as many corners as possible: living in a country also known as "the hexagon", i know what i mean!!). Merci pour votre musique!

Lindsey - Friday, March 25th, 2005 2:58 PM America/Boise
Hello! I've been a big fan ever since Splashdown, and I love Mercury - I think it shows off your vocal talent very nicely. I've been writing songs and I've noticed your music has a lot of influence in how I sing. Thanks for the inspiration! Lindsey -ukiyo.net
